You should breathe in through your nose while crunching your abs. It is also important to push your lower back into your chair while performing this exercise to make it effective. You should hold the crunch for about three seconds and then relax by breathing out through your mouth. Several repetitions should be performed to get the best abs work out.

If you don't want to do your abs work out in your chair at work, then get rid of your chair. It is becoming more and more popular for office staffers to sit on exercise balls at work.
